The leveling of the surface by natural processes is called gradation. Gradation reduces the difference in heights of the various landforms. Running water, wind, nerving ice and sea waves all they are called the agents of gradation. When the agents of gradation break up rocks and carry away the rock paroles from the land surface, this phenomenon is called erosion. When the erosion occurs, it lowers the surface of landforms which is known as degradation.
