A super bazar is a large scale retail organisation housed in a very large building. It deals mainly in food stuff and other products of daily use. It operates on a self service basis.

There are no salesmen or shop assistants. Goods are displayed in open shelves. They are neatly packed and slips are pasted to indicate the weight, price, quality, etc. Customers pick up and select goods, bring them to the cash counter, make payment and take delivery of the goods. Goods are sold on cash and carry basis.

Thus, the main characteristic of a super bazar is the absence of sales persons to assist the consumers.

A super bazar is different from a super market. A super bazar is generally owned and controlled by the government or a civil agency and its main aim is service to public.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

On the other hand, a supermarket is a private organisation and its main aim is making profits.
