“A man’s legs should be long enough to reach the ground and no longer.” This statement reveals that delegation cannot be undertaken to an unlimited extent and there are certain limits to delegation. The following points are to be kept in mind while determining the extent of delegation:

(a) The operation parts of authority should go for delegation.

(b) The ability of the subordinate will be kept in mind while delegating.

(c) The manager should not delegate all his authority and responsibility.
