The aspect of planning which sets up a timetable for doing office works is called scheduling. The starting time and the standard time for completion of work must be known clearly to everybody in the organisation. The process of scheduling enables the workers to do much work and as such, it quickens the process of activities.
The followings are the detailed steps of scheduling:
(a) Calculation of the desired time of completion of work,
(b) Calculation of the desired time of completion of the various phases of operation.
(c) For foreseeable delay appropriate allowance in the standard completion time is given.
(d) A provision is made in standard time of completion to accommodate the possible unforeseeable delays.
(c) Calculation of the movement time of work from one operation to another.
