Office work being mental work needs concentration and free from interruptions. Any sound constant or occasional create disturbance in office work. Noise is a cause of interruption in office work which means sound of any kind without any return. There arc two types of noise like external and internal.
The noise which comes from outside the office building is called external noise. The sources of external noise are noise by running vehicles and machines, noise from street sounds and noise of air conditioner. The office should be located at a quiet and noise free location.
The noise which originates inside the office room is called internal noise. The noise caused due to conversation in office, rustling of papers, scrapping of chairs and rattling of papers are the examples of internal noise. Internal noise can be controlled by using sound absorbing materials and separation of noisy equipments.
