Enzymes are the organic catalysts, which regulate the biochemical reaction in the living cells. These are mostly protein in nature, although some enzymes have non-protein part attached to them. These are produced only by the living protoplasm of the cell. These are effective in very low concentration and are sensitive to pH and temperature. During the reaction enzyme combines with the substrate and becomes unstable. Quickly it breaks down releasing the product and becomes free.
