The structure of amoeba studied under microscope revealed its diameter from 0.25 to 0.06 mm. it has no definite shape because pseudopodia are being continuously formed at different places. The body consists of following parts.
1. Plasma lemma:
Outermost elastic touch covering 1 u to 2u thick for protection of animal.
2. Protoplasm:

It contains protein compounds C,H,O,N,S and other elements plus water. It is divided into two.
a. Nucleus.
b. Cytoplasm.
Cytoplasm is divided in two (a) Ectoplasm, (b) Endoplasm.

Endoplasm has two clear layers :- Plasma gel and plasma sol, other structures in endoplasm are nucleus, contractile vacuole, food vacuole, oil droplets, mineral crystls, fat droplets, refractive spherical bodies etc.
