An author of the famous four religious books: Gyaneshwari, Amritanubhava, Haripath, Abhang and Chang Deo Pasthi, Sant Gyaneshwar was born in 1275 A.D. in the village of Newas in Maharashtra.

He was outcasted from his community because his father had returned to worldly life after becoming sanyasi. As from the very childhood he had to suffer humiliation from his community, he took deep interest in the worship of god.

Although he died at an early age of 21, he earned great fame as a religious thinker for his books and for his devotion towards god.
