The Revolt of 1783 was a real peasant uprising. (1) The uprising was led by the village headmen who played a very important role in the uprising. This is one of the examples to show that the uprising was a peasant rebellion.

(2) The mass character of the revolt is reflected in the huge assembly of peasants in times of action. (3-) The peasant character of the uprising is also attested by the mass of local evidence collected at that time. The peasants showed a marvelous initiative throughout the course of the uprising.
