The portion below the signature of the judge in the judgement is known as appendix.

The appendix as contains first, the names of the witnesses together with their serial number as P.W’s [plaintiff’s witnesses or prosecution witnesses], D.W’s [Defence witnesses] and C.Ws [Court witnesses].

Thereafter, the documents seriatum relied upon by plaintiff’s side or the prosecution as well as the documents relied upon by the defence are mentioned together with the descriptive particulars including the dates of the documents.

In Criminal cases a third item also figures namely, M.Os [material objects] such as a knife, a stone or other items which allegedly prove or disprove the guilt of the accused.

At the end of this list contained in the appendix the judge who pronounces judgment once again makes his mark by either initialling the judgment or signing the same in full. This ends the usual contents of the judgment.
