The purpose of stereophonic sound or stereo system is to present a true seen; of the position of the sound producing bodies. Though a person hears a sour with both the ears but actually the sound heard by each ear is slightly differed and the brain detects the direction of the sound depending on the differences.

The stereophonic system reproduces the sound with the same quality as the original sound. In short we can say that all the frequencies whether low or medium or high frequencies should be picked up efficiently.
For this purpose the microphones, recording amplifier, reproduction amplifier and loudspeakers having different frequency characteristic are used.
It should be taken care that the amplifier and microphone (loudspeaker) in a particular channel should have same frequency response. Thus the fidelity of the system becomes very high; therefore, such systems are called as Wi-Fi systems.
