This records the activity status of a person for each day of the week. Any person who works for one hour or more (but less than four hours) during the day is considered to employed for half a day. A work for four hours or more is considered full day’s employment. Not working for even one hour a day would mean unemployment for the whole day.

Estimates thus prepared are expressed as total person days of employment and unemployment. These unemployment figures are therefore aggregate of all unemployment days of all persons in the labour force.
