The regional services cater to major linguistic and cultural groups. This service is offered by each state and union territory to the groups living in these areas.
Except for news and national programmes of folks and music which are relayed from Delhi, the other programmes of each regional station directed at different groups such as farmers, workers children, women, and youth are produced at the regional stations / centres.
The national service programmes are broadcast over short wave transmitter which makes it possible for regional centres to relay them.
