In order to fill the gaps in our knowledge on threatend plants the following studies are being undertaken by the Survey.

1. A review of literature and study of herbarium specimens of endangered or rare species deposited in the various herbana of the country to collect data on the distribution, abundance and frequency.

2. Fresh explorations to areas for collection of plants and data on rare/endangerd species with regard to the present distribution frequency and phenological data.

3. Collection of live plants for introduction into the botanical gardens for protection and further studies on propagation.
