Few years back, I heard this very term for the first time. I was new to meditation and had no idea what lays for me in future. I was somehow trying to surf through difficulties in my life. Then in the coming years I gained some insights and really felt what it means to live in present.

When I discuss on this very such common terms like present moment or breathing or meditation I feel that people have really somewhat mistaken them in what they think they are however it is not what think they are.

One has heard that live in present or life is here and now or let go of things or forgive others but how many of us really able to this. The living in present is what is happening when you strip away all the resentments of your past and all the worries you have about your future. To live in the present is to live as if the past never existed and as if the future is irrelevant. We often are attached with our feelings or thoughts that make us feel who we are. Suppose you are chatting with your friend happily for two minutes and then suddenly one thought pop us oh! Tomorrow I need to make presentation in front of whole school.

All that joy and feeling of peace and being safe turns into dreadful situation your mind gets distracted from discussion and you then starts worrying in short you just lost the present moment. But many of us really look in to this, those who does will be a different person. Actually tomorrows presentation is not an issue just that thought is an issue which at wrong time at wrong place, this may happen with anyone regarding any situation for any reason the above one was just an example from which I mainly suffers.

Some might suffer from excessive thinking or fear of going at dentist or interview or even marriage .We swim in that worrying and planning for tomorrow and lose our grip with present. Mark twain once said,” I have worried about a great things in my life and a few of them actually happened”.

Conscious living or living with awareness from moment to moment that too non judgmentally is based upon the fact that people feel sad because they are either concerned about their past or worried about future. By learning how to live in the present moment people can become really happy
