Application to the Principal for remission of fine

Sir,

With due respect I shall like to state that Shri O.P. Gupta, my Bio teacher, has fined me Rs. 50.00 for being absent from a special test in his subject held on the 6th January, 2003.

Though I am extremely sorry, sir, for missing this test, the circumstances too were beyond my control. I was just ready to leave for school when my mother slipped from the staircase and hurt her leg. I had to attend to her and also arrange medical help. This kept me busy all the day long, making me forgets even to send an application for leave. Thank God, my mother is saved.

I request you to remit my fine as my absence was unavoidable.
