A school teacher, Amir Chand participated in several social reform and educational activities. He advocated widow remarriage, national education etc., and helped in the spread of the Swadeshi Movement. He was drawn towards the revolutionary group after he met Lala Hardayal and Ras Behari Bose. Hereafter, he organised several revolutionary activities in northern India. In February 1914, he was arrested in connection with Lahore Bomb and Delhi Conspiracy cases. He was accused of throwing a bomb on Lord Hardinge during a procession in Delhi. He was tried and sentenced to death.
