Nature by Dr. Arbind Kumar Choudhary is an anthology of quatrains on different vibes of nature. In fact, it is  a  long poem fragmented into four-liners each one impressively telling about the wonders which the nature reveals from time to time. Thoughts expressed in these quatrains emanate from poet’s avid observations, and his incessant love for nature.

In his preface to the book Dr. A..K.Choudhary writes “I get immense pleasure at heart  and soul in spite  of rough and tough life. Nature to me is  a treasure trove and source of  spiritual wealth  with which I am attached to”. He also considers nature  as a source of ‘spiritual sensitivity’. Indeed nature keeps the observers always guessing and its wonders surprise with unfolding  petals when it unravels the myths. Each revelation is stunning.

The poet feels:

“The glen of the peahen

Sunken the den

Of the hymen

In the seventh heaven”

The poet feels deeply involved in the  fascination of his surroundings which  are rich with glam  of nature. Chhath is a pious festivity of eastern region in India. Deeply adored and observed with dedicated rituals the poet tells that:

“The zenith of Chhath

Brings forth

The sun’s myths

In disguise of life smith.”

Interestingly in summer sun heat is escaped, but in winter sitting in the sun is very pleasant and healthy.

When pondering over thoughts of nature the poet at one place finds himself surrounded by  thoughts on love when he asserts that:

“Love nest

Is the wrest

Of the somnipathist

Against the misogamist.”

To an aid observer nature provides ample of opportunity to see love in the surroundings. The poet also avails the opportunity to assert:

“The sprite of love-spur

Is the star shower

Like lovelier  flower

ADVERTISEMENTS:

In sun and shower.”

And

“The passion flower

Of the star shower

Is a lovelier flower

In sun and shower.”

Rain always leaves its indelible marks on the imagination of the observer because of music of falling water and its cooling effect which enhances romance in life. The poet very finely narrates that:

“The rainy hilarity

Stirs the proximity

Of the femineity

Against the adversity.”

In his observation that “Natural sanctuary /Is ever superlunary/Like the cartulary/Of the luminary”  the poet exhibits his  liking for the grandeur of nature which dominates the thinking of its observes for its supremacy and incessant beauty .

Going through the following pages in the book one comes across the genius and his inquisitiveness about his romance with nature and is  impressed by the acumen of the poet to  find  oneself in  deep admiration  for him. By virtue of his avid observations about nature and its manifestations, the  poet  has endeared himself enormously among the readers and lovers of poetry in the present era. He deserves accolades of laudation for his dexterity of subtle poetic expressions.

The book is a pride possession of scholars  of poetry.
