Parenchyma may be of different types depending on its contents. When component cells of the tissue contain chloroplast it is called chlorenchyma. They help in photosynthesis. Palisade parenchyma and spongy parenchyma of mesophyll tissues are chlorenchymatous.
The difference between Palisade Parenchyma and Spongy Parenchyma are Palisade Parenchyma are present below the upper epidermis in dorsiventral leaf whereas Spongy Parenchyma are present towards the lower epidermis in dorsiventral leaf.
