What is the difference between Bulb and Bulbil ?

The difference between Bulb and Bulbil are Bulb is a modified underground stem whereas Bulbil is a modified aerial stem. Bulbil contains concentric whorls of fleshy scales covered by few dried scales. Lateral buds are present in the axil of fleshy leaves and terminal buds at the apex but Bulbil contains few buds which give rise to aerial shoot.

Bulb is an underground modification of stem. (i) It is highly condensed stem, represented by a short convex or slightly conical disc (ii) There are large numbers of fleshy scaly leaves surroundings a terminal bud at the center of the disc.
