It is resistant to acids and alkalis also therefore used for making filters in chemical industries and fire proof clothes.

Rubber

Rubber is a separate class of its own, ELASTOMERIC FIBRES. The fibre forming substance is a thick gummy liquid obtained from rubber trees. This fibre has very high elasticity and low abrasion resistance. It is difficult to dye and gets deteriorated by sunlight and chemicals. It is used mainly for industrial purposes. It does not find much use as textile item in real sense.
