Babur a Chagtai Turk was descended on his father’s side from Taimur and on his mother’s side with Changez Khan. He was the son of Umar Shaikh Mirza. In 1494 Babur ascended the throne of a small state Farghana. Babur attacked India four times from 1519 to 1524 AD.

Babur was invited to attack India by Daulat Khan Lodi the governor of Lahore and the ruler of Mewar Rana Sanga. He met Ibrahim Lodi in the first battle of Panipat in 1526 AD. He defeated Ibrahim Lodi and laid the foundation of Mughal empire in India. He was coroneted on 27th April, in 1526 in Delhi.

He defeated the Rajputs of Mewar in 1527 AD, the Rajputs of Malwa in 1528 AD and Afghans in 1529 AD. In this way Babur became the master of almost the whole of northern India. He died in 1530 AD.
