The actual date of birth is not known nor is much known about his childhood. But it appears the Jesus was born sometime between 7 and 5 B.C. 25 December was fixed as his birth date, more than 500 years after the event on purely hypothetical data.

Two of the four Gospels state that he was born of the virgin mother without the agency of a male parent. Joseph the carpenter has been considered to be his father. Bethkhem has been mentioned as his place of birth.

Jesus was born and brought up in the hills of Galilee in the quiet town of Nazareth. When Jesus was between 34 and 36 years of age, he was baptized by John, the son of Zechariah.

When he come out of the river after being baptized, a holy spirit descended upon him declaring that he was Gods Prophet. Jesus withdrew into the desert to pray and fast and to prepare him for the prophetic task.

Thereafter, he began by preaching in the towns of Galilee on the shore of the lake where crowds flocked to hear him. Reputed miraculous cures, attracted attention. Jesus performed several healing miracles and nature miracles.

By the passage of time Jesus became famous amongst the people and hence he developed enemies as well. The zealots turned against him because he refused to become their tool for raising a rebellion against the Romans.

The Pharisees became his enemies because of his disregard to their prized interpretations and his cavalier treatment of them personally. But his most dangerous opponents were the Sadducees.

After preaching in Galilee and Jordan he proceeded to Jerusalem. He entered the city riding on an ass. People were waiting there to receive him. Even here he became popular and thus his enemies felt that he had to be stopped else it got too late.

Pharisees and Sadducees got together and got him arrested by soldiers and the Jewish police. He was first taken before the Jewish Priest and then before Pontius Pilate, the Roman procurator.

Due to the pressure of the Jews, Pilate had to give death punishment to Jesus. He passed the sentence of crucifixion on him. Death on the cross usually took two or three days to die of pain and exhaustion. But Jesus remained on the cross only for 3 hours.

Jesus had actually not died when he was brought down from the cross but had gone into deep swoon and gradually he had recovered. Jesus had prayed to be saved and God heard his prayer.

It is believed that Jesus had come to Kashmir in search of the lost sheep of the house of Israel. He died at the age of 120 years and his tomb is still in existence at Mohalla Khanyar in Srinagar, Kashmir.
