(i) Located between 0° to 10° north and south of the equator, the region experiences hot and humid (wet) climate throughout the year.

(ii) Range of temperature is minimum (2 to 3 degree).

(iii) Rainfall is high and is more than 150 cm and takes place daily in the afternoon (4 O’ clock rain). Rainfall is convectional.

(iv) Laterite soil is found here, which is red and yellow in colour. The soil is leached due to heavy rainfall.
