Short notes on lymph fluid

This is a colorless liquid tissue and is made up of two parts viz., plasma and leucocytes. The plasma is a colorless fluid matrix and consists of floating amoeboid cells having of the leucocytes (WBC). The leucocytes are mostly lymphocytes.

The plasma does not have RBC, platelets and other blood proteins. The plasma fluid enters from the intercellular spaces into the lymphatic capillaries and through these vessels it finally enters the blood stream.

The lymph, transports materials from the tissues into the blood stream. It also destroys the invading microbes.
