They fall in the narrow range of- 55.5 for Andhra Pradesh and 47.6 for Kerala and for 2001 they fall in the range of 58.1 per cent for Tamil Nadu and 47.3 per cent for Uttar Pradesh.
However, a good deal of variation is observed regarding female labour force participation rates. The highest female labour force participation rate is observed for Himachal Pradesh (34.8) and the lowest for Punjab (only 4.4).
The highest female labour force participation rate is observed for Chhatisgarh (40 per cent) and the lowest for Kerala (15.3 per cent) for 2001.
