Brief notes on The Earth Structure

The earth is made up of three concentric layers:

Crust:

The uppermost layer of the earth is called crust.its thickness is about 60 kilometers.

Mantle:

The middle layer of the earth is called mantle.Its thickness is about 2,900 km.

Core :

The innermost layer of the earth is called the core.Its thickness is about 3,500 km. The temperature below the earth surface increases with depth. The temperature increases by about 1°C for an increase of 32 meters in depth.
