Sir

Sub: Following of traffic rules

As we all know that, rules are made to be followed and they are for our own benefit. However, I regret to see and say that in Delhi, the traffic rules are least followed.

When it is a rule to stop at the red light, people jumping any red light must be severely punished. Driving as if all the drivers are racing is a sight to watch on the Delhi roads. The speed limit boards are to be seen on all the crossroads but, are they meant only to decorate the roads or to convey a message? If they send a message, those breaking the speed limits must be heavily punished, for, it is because of these speeding vehicles Delhi has the highest number of road accidents.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

It must be made clear to all that, when rules are made they have got to be followed and, since yours is a law enforcing agency I request you to kindly see that rules are followed to the last word. It is you who have to discipline the public to the necessity of following road rules and regulations, by means of strict punishment to public and less corruption of your men. If this much is seen to, I am sure the situation will certainly improve, and it will become a pleasure to drive on the Delhi roads.

Hoping for some improvement in the very near future

Yours faithfully
