Body of every living organism is healthy in itself with built-in immunisation, but when attacked by certain external elements/influences/germs, etc., the body suffers from conditions, which it fails to cope up with. These conditions are called disease disease, not at ease, uncomfortable and disturbed in which the normal functioning of various body organs in disturbed.

As such, sufficient care may be taken of an individual’s environment, fresh air and sunlight, cleanliness, as well as of proper, regular and nutritive diet. Children have a delicate and tender structure, and are more likely to fall prey to disease and disorders. Hence, more care should be taken of their health and well being. As seen is the previous chapter, these diseases could be infectious or contagious.
