Modesty is one of the finest qualities in human character. A person may be brave, learned and diligent, but if he is not modest, he cannot command respect from others. An immodest or arrogant person is hated and avoided by all.

Humble persons are generally found to be wise and compassionate. They listen to both the high and the low with equal interest and attention. He does not try to show his wisdom, unless it is absolutely necessary.
