Post-office is very helpful to us. It helps us in many ways. Through post office we send and get our letters. It is a branch of Indian postal department. In past there was no post office at all. The letters were sent and got through messengers throughout the countries. It was an expensive thing as the distance was more. But at present, we do not face that kind of difficulty.

The post office is placed in a suitable place for better convenience. There is a post box hanging in front of the post office. The public insert their letters into this box. The post peon .collects the letters from the box and packs it. Then this package is sent to the head office of postal department. There, the letters are separated according to the place they are to be sent. There are post tickets, money order forms, etc. sold in the post office. People also save their money in post office. Thus post office serves a great.
The post office uses certain pin code numbers for different places. If we write these pin code numbers on the letter clearly there is less chance of missing of letter. The Government of India has set up so many post offices in villages, cities, towns, etc.
