Built in Delhi during the rule of Emperor Shahjahan.

Last Sunday I went to see the Red Fort with my uncle and cousins. They had arrived from a village.

We bought tickets and entered a big gate. This gate is called Lahori Gate. Many people had come to see the

Red Fort. We passed through a beautiful market. First of all, we saw Diwan-i-Aam. It is made of red sandstone. The roof of Diwan-i-Aam is supported by a large number of columns and arches. Here Emperor Shahjahan used to sit on the Peacock throne.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

Then we saw Diwan-i-Khas. Royal palaces are in front of Diwan-i-Khas. The palaces are made of pure white marble. A canal runs through these palaces.

We also saw Moti Masjid and Savan and Bhadon Houses. This building is a fine example of architecture. The beauty in the marble is worth-seeing. We spent two hours in the Red Fort and then we returned home.
