Useful facts about the plants around us :

1. The plants that grow on land are called terrestrial plants and the plants that grow in water are called aquatic plants.

2. Terrestial plants and trees grow on mountains, in the plains and in deserts.

3. Aquatic plants can be floating plants, underwater plants or plants or plants with fixed roots.

4. There are flowering and non-flowering plants around us.

5. Plants can reproduce through their seeds, spores, stems, leaves or roots.

6. When plants reproduce from plant parts, it is called reproduction by vegetative propagation.

7. Seeds germinate when given enough water, air and sunlight.

8. Fungi are non-green and are neither plants nor animals.

9. Ferns are also non-flowering plants but they are green unlike fungi.
