Communicator is a person who starts the process. He is the source, the originator or the sender of messages. He gives the message intended to reach a specific group of audience.

He gives the message in such a manner that it results in correct interpretation and desirable response.

He is a key factor in the effectiveness of the communication process. He can be a teacher, extension worker, administrator, leader, writer, or any other person in the role of communicator. A good communicator,

(a) Knows his objectives, audience, message, appropriate channels for his message, his abilities and limitations

(c) Has skill in selecting, treating and expressing messages and in understanding his audience and collecting the evidence of results.

The communicator recognizes that his message ‘must get through’. He communicates for clear understanding and desirable action by his audience, as this is an indicator of successful communication.
