What is the difference between vessel and tracheid?

Vessels

1. Longer (as long as 10 cm).

2. It is composed of a row cells placed one above the other without cross-walls in between.

3. Found in advanced gymnosperms and angiosperms.

4. A syncyte.

Tracheids

1. Shorter (may be 1 mm in length).

2. Single cell with closed tapering ends.

3. Tracheids are found in all group of vascular plants.

4. No a syncyte.
