What is the difference between complete dominance and incomplete dominance?

ADVERTISEMENTS:

In complete dominance the dominant character completely suppresses the recessive character in the generation. For instance in pea plants when red and white flowered plants are crossed in the F1 generation only red colour flowers appear because red colour is completely dominant over the white. In the 4 O’ clock plants however, the red is incompletely dominant over white. Hence, the F1 plants produce pink flowers.
