Difference between Rocks and Minerals are:

Rocks

(i) An aggregate of minerals that forms a part of the earth’s crust.

(ii) They are used for construc­tional purposes.

(iii) They have less economic value than the minerals.

(iv) They are found extensively, e.g. marble, .granite, basalt, sandstone.

Minerals

(i) Substance found in the earth’s crust, having a definite chemi­cal composition.

(ii) They are the raw materials for industries.

(iii) They have greater economic value.

(iv) They are found in certain rocks, e.g., silver, gold, iron ore, copper, coal.
