The presentation of data in the form of line, areas or pictorial symbols is called charts. It is an improved form of presentation and can be easily understood by casual and non- technical persons. Charts include both graph and diagrams. Graphs are drawn to study changes in relationship between two or more variables. The horizontal scale is treated as X axis and the vertical scale is treated as Y axis. By connecting various points on the graph paper a curve is drawn which gives a clear picture of the facts. In conveying information, diagrams serve as a common basis. Diagrams help in memorising things better because these are attractive and eye appealing. Use of colours add to the attractiveness of the diagrams. A diagram may be a bar diagram, rectangle, square and pie diagram.
