What is the difference between Nucleus and Chromosome?

Nucleus:

1. It is a cell organelle.

2. Nucleus has nuclear membrane, nucleoplasm, chromatin network and nucleolus.

3. Most of the eukaryotic cells contain one nucleus.

4. Nucleus contains enzymes, Mn++, Mg++ in traces nucleotides and ribosomes in its nucleoplasm.

Choromosome:

1. It is present in the nucleus.

2. Choromosomes have two chromatids, which are held at cetromere.

3. Chromosomes are present in fixed numbers in a nucleus.

4. Chromosomes contain histone proteins and DNA more or less in equal proportion.
