Indulal Yajnik distinguished himself as asocial worker, freedom fighter and a journalist from Gujarat. He took part in the Home Rule movement and Kaira Satyagraha. He estab­lished schools for tribal children and became a member of the Antyaj Seva Mandal. He also took up the cause of peasants and associated himself with the Kisan Sabha. He was made the President of the Akhil Hind Kisan Sabha in 1942. Founder of the Gujarat Vidyapeeth, Indulal Yajnik brought out the monthly—Navjivan Ane Satya, and a daily—Nutan Gujarat.

After independence, he founded the Maha Gujarat Janta Parishad.
