(a) Importance:

Bowels occupy a very important position in personal hygiene. Regular bowels are a must for internal cleanliness which is more important than the external.

Irregular bowels cause lethargy, headache, and lack of appetite, discomfort, heaviness and con­stipation and may even cause diseases of the digestive system needing surgical intervention. Hence, one must pay special attentions to bowels.

(b) Methods

ADVERTISEMENTS:

1. Cultivate a habit of moving the bowels in the morning.

2. Don’t give up and try to move the bowels lest it causes constipation.

3. Teacher should check this with children.

4. If a child continues coming without completing his bowels, teacher must advise the child as well as the parents in this regard.

6. Give child gastofen with milk to help move the bowels.
