1. Efficiency:

A unitary government is efficient as compared to a federal one because it has uniformity of law and administration throughout the country.

The strength of the unitary government is best visible in the spheres of foreign policy and national defence, where uniform enforcement of law is most desirable and necessary. Such a government can act as single unit against the rest of the world.

2. National Unity:

ADVERTISEMENTS:

A unitary government creates a favorable atmosphere for the development of national sentiments. There are no local interests as against national interests.

3. Less Expensive:

A unitary government is less expensive because there is no duplication of governmental apparatus.
