Originally, Gibberella fujikorii was the only source. Subsequently, Gibberellins have been obtained from a variety of plants and plant parts such as ears of Hordeum vulgare and Festuca pratensis; seeds of Echinocystis macrocarpa; roots of Eichhornia crassieps; petals of Cassia fistula; endosperm of Cucurbita maxima, young seed and seedlings of Pisum sativum, Ricinus communis and Zea mays etc.
