Year 2010-2011 has brought a tsunami of baffling scams. Major of them are:

1. 2G Spectrum Scam

A. Raja the then Telecom minister is accused of issuing 2G spectrum licenses  to the non eligible private companies like swan telecom and uni tech at the throw way prices leading to a loss of 1.76lakh crores  to the government. Nira Radia, the lobbyist and her conversation with the ministers and businessmen spiced up the whole case.

2. CWG Scam

CWG 2010 will be remembered for its magnificent opening and exquisite closing and also for the financial blunders in offering tenders, payments to non existing parties, high prices and plotted delays in execution of contracts. Main accused is Suresh Kalmadi. This filth has tainted the country’s image.

3. Adarsh Housing Society Scam

The land reserved for war widows and veterans of Kargil was acquired by the acquaintances of ministers and bureaucrats. This led to replacement of Mr. Ashok Chavan by Mr. Prithviraj Chavan as the CM of Maharastra.

4. Citi Bank Scam

Shivraj Puri is accused of luring about 40 high net worth individuals and corporate entities to invest in bogus schemes on the promise of unusually high returns and diverted their money to stock markets. The investors have reportedly suffered a loss of about Rs 400 crore and many more.

The condition of the mother India is same as it was before independence. The only difference is that earlier foreigners were pillaging it and now the politicians and sarkari babus have replaced them.

Accost leaders like Anna Hazare, Kejriwal, Bedi have stood against corruption and have generated awful spirit among the aam admi against corruption. Lokpal bill discussion has become the part and parcel of every Indian.

But have we ever heard the prima faciae been found guilty and the verdict is so on so.

No! There’s a lot of hull ah bull oh about the scams, the suspects but no penalty, no verdicts, no punitive measures.

This is worsening the scenario. The main accused in the corruption cases are generally the influential people who can just smash the politics with their influence and wealth but how much a common man can bear, their hard earned money being expended on the luxuries and drained out in the foreign accounts of politicians and babus.

Corruption is a major ruction in country’s development. Corruption slowly eats up the development of a country and makes it hollow. Corruption has become a way to sycophantically please the boss. The higher the rank is, the more corrupt he/she is. It is just not an archaic belief but the endless scam list proves it true. Even after the list of corrupted ministers is increasing year by year the prime minister has not intervened in the matter. Reshuffling and addition of new ministers is the only measure being taken by the PM so far in this matter.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

Avarice will never slake but it needs to be washed up by framing punitive rules against the corrupts.

The major steps which should be taken are –

  1. Framing a new body to investigate and keep a watch on major government dealings, events
  2. Speedy judgments on the corruption charges
  3. Recovery of the amount which is being plundered deceitfully, from the accused.
  4. Amount to be paid for anticipatory bail for any charge of corruption should be increased 10times.If the corrupt leeches can suck the hard earned money of poor then why any strict rules to get that money back from them aren’t.
  5. It should be made mandatory for every minister to publically declare his/her gross property every year, so that abrupt increase in the wealth could be traced early and enquired and investigated.
  6. Corruption is the menace which needs each and every citizen to hold hand and fight as one against it, and then only we can replenish the polluted air and breathe again in azure sky.
