Marriage which generally takes place between father’s brother’s son/daughter with mother’s brother’s son/daughter or with father’s sister’s son/daughter or with mother’s sisters son/daughter etc. is called cousin marriage. This type of marriage is followed by and large in some parts of Indian society.

There are two types of cousins’ marriage.

(1) Cross causions.

(2) Parallel cousins.
