All new ICS update can be availed officially very shortly on your Samsung Galaxy Note N7000. The introduction of the new Ginger Bread XXLC1 update has been a great breakthrough in the market as all the users are waiting for the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 update release.

The firmware has been leaked already in the internet, but it is compatible only for Galaxy Note N7000. So please do not try updating any other devices with this update file. The article explains the features and instruction to follow while updating your Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 with Gingerbread XXLC1.

I. PC with Windows operating system

III. Download XXCL1 2.3.6 Firmware package to your PC

IV. Download Odin Executable file

Reminders before Updating:

I. Backup your messages, contacts and all data in phone before updating, remember not to use Samsung KIES as it will not help in restoration after the phone is updated.

II. Ensure that the phone has at least 80% charge left before the update as it may cause the phone to get turned off during the update which can cause the phone to be DEAD.

III. Ensure that the firmware update is not interrupted by any antivirus software or firewalls. So better disable firewall settings and uninstall the antivirus software before the update.

IV. Enable USB debugging in phone. For this follow these steps : “Settings>Applications>Development>USB debugging”. Make sure that the USB Debugging option is ticked.

Warning- The instructions discussed here are risky so please do not attempt this update if you are unaware of the procedure completely.

Instructions for updating:

1. Extract the contents in the XXLC1 firmware package and Odin (Zip files without any password) to a folder in your PC, which give the following files : GT-N7000-MULTI-CSC-OXALC1.tar.md5

2. Now turn Off your Galaxy Note so that it can enter in Download Mode and ensure that it is not connected to you PC.

3. Now put your device into Download mode, for this hold the Volume Down Key and Ok button and check whether the device is now in Download mode, if it is not in download mode do the step again.

4. After your device is in download mode, connect it to you PC with the USB cable. Now select the files that has been already extracted to the folder earlier.

5. Now click on the Start button in Odin so that flashing can be started.

6. After the flashing is completed your device will restart automatically. Now the USB cable can be unplugged from your device.

Note- If you get a screen with green background astyle= “font-weight: bold;”>FAIL message it states that the update has failed. Now remove and reinsert the battery and start from step 3.
