Historically the western civilization is produce of Hallenic Christian tradition with perhaps a dash of Teutonic influence shown in their respect for law and the belief in the sovereignty of the people. The tradition contained within itself two different doctrines about human nature. One was the Greek view of man as a rational animal and the second is the Christian belief that every individual is a child of God. The Greek thinkers emphasized on the dualism of man's sensuous nature and his reason. Christianity accepted this view but it added another dualism which penetrate for deeper, that between the natural and the supernatural nature of man. The ultimate of the individual's life is to know and love God and serve world to come. The ultimate aim of education has been fixed according.
