Contract gives rise to jural relationship between two or more specified person. Thus it deals with right in persona, you can enforce your right under the law of contract which are available to you against the particular person to make it more right in persona Law of contract comes with doctrine of privities of contract. However Law of Torts gives rise to right in rim, right available against the world at large. X has right in rim against Defamation, that he should not be defamed by any one on privities but the violation of legal right is needed to be proved.

Damages incurred may be liquidated or unliquidated in case of Law of Contract. However, dam­ages in case of Torts are always unliquidated.
