I have witnessed many football matches, but one particular match, that I always remember, was held last year between the two Calcutta giant teams: Mohun Bagan and Hast Bengal. It was a wonderful match. The match was held in the Mohun Bagan ground. I went with two of my friends.
The game began in due time. It was decided by a toss by the referee which team would get the chance to select the Slde of the field and get the starting kick. Mohun Bagan won the toss. The players on both the sides took their respective Positions, and moved promptly towards the ball, as soon as M referee's whistle was heard.
The forward players of Mohun Bagan team had the ball in their control from the beginning, and at the end of about half-an-hour's play, they scored the first goal. And that was the only goal scored during the first half of the game.
During the second half, East Bengal players became aggressive from the beginning. The right-in player of East Bengal dribbled the ball skillfully and took it into the penalty box, but the referee marked his off-side. The same player tried again to pierce through the defence net of their opponent team, and was successful to move forward and score a goal.
This draw-game continued for some time. Now both the sides tried to score a goal, but neither was successful. In the last moment, Mohan Bagan team had the opportunity of a corner kick, and they were able to utilize the chance very well.
The kick was received by the left-in forward player by his head that led the ball straight into the goal. Thus the result was 2-1. Mohan Bagan was declared the winner, although the East Bengal team also played equally well.
