Pargat Singh is a former captain of the Indian hockey team. Born tfarch 5, 1965, atMithapur near Calendar cantonment, and Pargat Singh lis early education at his village school.

Afterwards, he joined Lyallpur Visa College, Jalandhar. Initially, he was included in the junior Indian; eye team. Graduating into the senior hockey team was a natural and both process for Pragat Singh, as he was emerging as a talented player.
